Specific Position Responsibilities
This task requires an Application DBA with PeopleSoft finance experience.
Design and implement data marts to support financial reporting from PeopleSoft 9.1 to Cognos 10.1
Advise Cognos report developers on use of SQL, OLAP and star schemas to achieve accurate and efficient reporting of PeopleSoft data through Cognos
Maintain stability and scalability of data marts
Coordinate with PeopleSoft 9.1 DBAs to debug Cognos processes and products
Coordinate with report developers to maintain accurate Cognos metadata
Work as a member of the Cognos Core Team to deliver enterprise business intelligence services
Specific Position Requirements
Preferred experience and skills for this task are:
At least three years of experience in PeopleSoft EPM reporting and/or designing and building data marts for PS Finance 8.8 or higher 9.1 experience highly desirable;
At least five years of experience as DBA in a data warehouse or business intelligence program with responsibility for designing relational and dimensional data models;
Experience in ETL design and development, experience with a variety of ETL tools;
Expert knowledge of SQL, OLAP, and relational star schemas;
Understanding of standard UNIX commands;
Experience with managing OLTP and OLAP production databases in Oracle 10g and higher, and MS SQL Server for stability and scalability;
Cognos experience preferably Cognos 10.x;
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with business SMEs to design business intelligence products.
