Job Description

The Cognos Developer will be responsible for the Analysis, Design &
Development, Testing, and implementation of various Business
Intelligence Reporting initiatives. Responsibilities will include;
report/cube development and maintenance, user training, ad hoc
requests, etc. This individual must have the proven ability to
architect, manage, administer, develop and support reporting using the
complete Cognos 8.4 and 7.4 toolset (Report Studio, Query Studio,
Framework Manager, Power play Transformer, and Power play Studio).
This individual must have through knowledge of relational databases.

Responsibilities:

• This individual should have experience using the Cognos 8.4 suite of
products as well as 7.4 including Framework, Transformer, Report
Studio and Power play Web.
• Responsibilities including but not limited to; requirements
gathering and documentation, testing, and simple estimating and
timelines
• Selected candidate will be able to identify, analyze, develop, and
document requirements in accordance with Arch standards, processes,
and methodologies.
• Individual should be able to lead and facilitate small to mid-size
groups to achieve project objectives.
• Maintain existing DTS and SSIS packages for ETL processes
• Must have the ability to develop strong relationships with our
business partners.
• Provide production support for the reporting and analytic
environment including Trouble-shooting of reports, new user setup,
data inquiries, and ad-hoc requests.
• Ability to work with onshore and offshore development team.

Required Skills:

• Must have at least 4-8 years of Cognos development experience
including proven experience with Report Studio, Framework, and
Transformer.
• Must have 4-6 years of business systems analysis, testing,
development, and support experience with proven track record.
• Maintain existing DTS and SSIS packages for ETL processes
• Must have strong problem solving, verbal and written communication,
and analytical skills.
• Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of relational databases within a Data Warehouse
environment. Experience working in a data warehouse environment is a
plus.
• Experience using SQL Management Studio.
• Strong background in SQL2005 and 2008 SSRS, SSAS and SSIS is a plus.
