Position: Systems Engineer
Duration: 6 monts to 1-2 Years
Location: Redmond, WA

 

Client is looking for a systems engineer to help them untangle a consolidated file share that hosts about 6tb of office files, application builds and serves as a drop point for data transfers. Clients are looking to classify the data, restructure the share architecture, put in place a manageable security policy, and implement quotas and auditing. A successful candidate will have the following skill sets.

 

-Extensive Experience with Windows 2008 Server
-Extensive Microsoft Clustering Experience
-Solid Understanding of Windows Server File Share Technologies

 

-Windows 2008 File System
-Data Classification
-Quotas
-Auditing
-Power Shell Scripting
-Ability to Generate XLS Reports from Large Data Sets that are "Management Friendly"
-Strong Understanding of File Share Security Models
-Rock Star Communications Skills
-Ability to write policy documents and technical procedures to be used by our support teams

 

Client's Team:
Given the scope of work, we will be asking the business for additional funding to carry us through the next fiscal year. Initially we will be looking to do an in-depth analysis of the current data. We will then work to design the "to be" file structure, security model and quota/auditing policy. Once the new structure has been designed we will then begin the work to classify and migrate the data. This last portion of work will require extensive communications with the project team and potentially the end users.
