POSITION: Oracle DBA with Golden Gate experience

New York

Duration: 4 Months

Job Description/ Required Skills:

With Golden Gate skills ,    "Provide assistance implementing Oracle GoldenGate for the purposes of data migration and replication for DTCC.

The source database will be in the United States running Oracle 11G on IBM Advanced Interactive eXecutive (AIX 5.3) while the target database will be Oracle 11G on Linux in Europe, including the following services:

 A. Planning and preparation:

1. Assist with high-level architectural overview of the database migration and continued data

replication.

2. Review database schemas, data volumes and current environments.

3. Assist with migration and continued data replication planning and strategies.

B. Dry run migration(s) and continued data replication testing in non

1. Install Oracle GoldenGate on one (1) non-production source server running AIX 5.3

2. Install Oracle GoldenGate on one (1) non-production source server running LINUX

3. Configure Oracle GoldenGate and parameter files in non-source database on your IBM AIX to the target database on Linux.

4. Perform up to two (2) dry run migrations.

5. Provide Oracle GoldenGate tuning assistance where required.

6. Assist your staff on Oracle GoldenGate product functionalities.

7. Assist with documenting the migration steps and refine accordingly to build out the production go live migration strategy.

C. Production go-live migration and continued data replication:

1. Install Oracle GoldenGate on one (1) production source server running your IBM AIX 5.3.

2. Install Oracle GoldenGate on one (1) production target server running Linux.

3. Configure Oracle GoldenGate and parameter files in non-production to replicate data from the

source database on your IBM AIX to the target database on Linux.

4. Provide Oracle GoldenGate tuning assistance where required.

5. Follow the steps derived from the pilot dry run migrations.

D. Planning for future project phases:

1. Review your future project phases as they relate to Oracle GoldenGate.

2. Plan and provide recommendations toward future project phases they relate to Oracle GoldenGate.

E. Project Closeout:

1. Discuss any remaining project related items.

2. Assist with documenting the final Oracle GoldenGate implementation.
