Desktop Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia, PA

Submittal rate- $40
The client is an Insurance carrier in the process of closing a deal to purchase a large annuity block of business from another carrier. The transition will include creating interfaces between the existing client systems and the new purchased systems. Also in scope will be the building out of 2 – 3 new locations and the associated infrastructure. Position will involve heavy client interaction, requirements gathering and facilitating the client(s) to drive to solutions they will need help formulating.
This role will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for desktop engineering to include reviewing and recommending new desktop technologies, reviewing and recommending new hardware, and being innovative at looking at ways to improve the end user experience and utilizing technologies we have in place or not. This person will also be working on multiple projects of varying complexities and priorities for the desktop engineering team. Deliverables vary from assisting with desktop technologies and processes to deploying and management of desktop IT solutions. The role is expected to collaborate with internal IT support teams and resources in other departments within the business. This is a high level position with significant operational responsibilities and will require a detail-oriented individual able to follow complex technical instructions.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills.
• Experience with Virtual Desktops solutions / VDI
• Experience with active directory and Group policies as they relate to the desktop.
• Experience with Imaging technologies
• Experience with scripting technologies such as VB, Powershell, Wise Script.
• Worked at a Tier 3 or 4 support level as an experience desktop engineer
• Experience with Profile management
• Must have strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of end users, IT and Management staff
• Ability to articulate growth, future needs and direction on desktop technologies
• Comfortable in all aspects of the IT environment
• Self starter able to complete tasks with minimal instruction and supervision
• A team player and able to work very well with other teams
• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Anti-Virus and Encryption technologies
• Experience in a validated or regulated environment
