Title:                     Functional Analyst

Position ID:        14424

Location:             Redmond, WA

Duration:             8 Months (could go longer)

 

Required Skills:

·         3 to 5 years analysis experience in complex transactional databases systems.

·         Ability to analyse and create functional specifications from business requirements.

·         Must have an excellent understanding of software architectures, MS products, software lifecycle methodology and information systems development & Data communication products and project lifecycle methodology.

·         Excellent technical design, process analysis, and technical management skills required.

·         Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision making skills required.

·         Strong understanding of software architectures, MS Products, software and development lifecycle.

·         Broad knowledge base of technologies outside of area of focus (e.g. Client Server Technologies, Visual Basic 6, SQL Server 2005 - 2008, Visual Studio 2010, SharePoint 2010)

·         Proficient with the latest Microsoft development tools and technologies.

·         Must have excellent knowledge of T-SQL.

·         Ability to understand C# codes would be advantageous.

·         Some business/functional knowledge of the specific area required.

·         Solid written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to proactively identify issues, suggest solid solutions and coordinate resolutions.

·         Ability to manage tasks, work independently and work under deadline pressure.

·         Competent in completing major phases of technical systems analysis involving multiple components, interfaces and user groups within an organization.

·         Background knowledge on security/privacy procedures/standards will be advantageous.

 

Responsibility

·         Work with Analysis, testing, and business owner teams to understand desired system functionality.

·         Performs assessment of customer requirement design analysis, research on alternative approaches, cost/benefit/risk analysis, and buy versus build (existing services).

·         Responsible for understanding and communicating global business requirements.

·         Operate independently on multiple small projects or multiple phases of large projects, within established guidelines.

·         Responsible for successful completion of the technical and system process design for major project components that meet customer needs. 

·         Prepare presentations and status reports. 

·         Facilitate group meetings.

·         Work closely with the Project Manager, Development Team, other IT groups, as well as customer groups, under limited supervision.

·         Assist with prioritizing development requests specific to projects.

·         Create functional specification documents.

·         Create gap analysis document and implementation plans.
