Cognos Architect                                   

Location: Richardson, TX

6 Months 

 

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for BI architecture and presentation of reports by using IBM Cognos suite. Must have good communication skills and comfortable working with business users and providing them the best solution to meet their needs in addition to strong technical skills developing frameworks and reports using Cognos 10 Report Studio.  Participate in requirement definition, solution development and implementation phases of project.  Implement Cognos FM and report development to support business decisions.  Create BI specifications and process documentation to produce the required reporting and analytic deliverables.  Configure and tune FM infrastructure to optimize the reporting performance.  Troubleshoot and resolve data, system issues and performance issues.

Position Details:

• Build prototype solutions based on initial business requirements.
• Interface with business users to gather and define requirements.
• Create optimal framework manager model for reports.
• Design report specs based off business requirements.
• Create reports using Cognos 10 BI Report Studio.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of development experience using IBM Cognos Report Studio, Framework Manager, Query Studio, and Transformer Studio.
• 7+ years experience using SQL, data modeling, BI and Data Warehousing tools.
• Extensive experience with data warehouse concepts and methodologies.
• Strong SQL skills required.
• Experience developing frameworks and reports using Cognos 10.
• Experience in a version/change control environment using software design lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
• Experience with database design & modeling.
