Role: Sr Java Web Developer

Location: Irvine, CA

Term: 12 months, could extend 6 months

 

The Sr. Java Programmer / Analyst role works as part of a team responsible for new application development and/or improving existing applications to meet the changing needs of our business. This role is within the American Funds Web team and includes development for Shareholder, Adviser, and Retirement websites.

 

Looking for a Sr Web Developer with specific High Traffic, Customer Facing website experience.

 

Expert in JEE technologies: Java, Servlets, JSP

- Strong experience in designing and developing high volume usage n-tier web applications

- Advanced knowledge of Web Services (SOAP/REST) and Hibernate

- A deep understanding of the Struts framework

- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript is required.

- App/Web Server: Weblogic, Apache, Tomcat.

- Strong experience with Tag Library, XML and binding frameworks, AJAX, JSON

- Strong experience with Spring frameworks

- General database and SQL knowledge, exposure to related tools

- Good understanding of Web Application Security and best practices

- Expertise in UML

- Experience with Ant is desirable

- Experience with automated unit testing and experience with related tools (e.g. Junit), concepts and benefits

- Tool/IDE Exposure: SPARX Enterprise Architect, Toad, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Eclipse.
