Looking for two (2) VoIP Systems Engineer's with strong background in the Telecommunications / Wireless industry for our Client in Seattle, WA. You will be working with a leading provider of mission-critical wireless data solutions to government customers, public safety, and carriers.

 

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Design, configure, provision, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and document VoIP network elements, SIP signaling systems, call processing applications and related monitoring/reporting on UNIX platforms in support of Client's VoIP E9-1-1 and Next Generation E9-1-1 services. Provide operational expertise to Product Development for the above areas. Serve as tier III escalation for their service offerings.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Troubleshoot service impairments and maintain accurate documentation of related trouble tickets.
• Design and support high availability VoIP telephony signaling & voice networks.
• Serve as an expert for SIP signaling related to E9-1-1 call delivery. Familiarity with SS7 and CAMA is a plus.
• Configure and maintain session border controller (SBC) systems.
• Install, provision and support emergency services VoIP Positioning Center (VPC).
• Install, provision and support NextGen E9-1-1 call routing and delivery systems.
• Implement and maintain systems that provide master street address guide (MSAG) address lookup
• Document system configurations and operational procedures
• Participate in ISO-9000, TL-9000, and ISO-27001 compliance and documentation activities.
• Provide technical expertise for future services in the telecommunications sector.
• Stay abreast of technological trends in telecommunications.
• Evaluate and select new telephony products.
• Manage vendor relationships for telephony hardware and software.
• Manage upgrades of hardware and software for telecommunications network nodes.
• Work with the IP Network Architect, Database Architect, and UNIX Systems Architect.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
• Work independently on projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience designing and operating VoIP networks.
• Experience with SIP/SDP/RTP. CAMA and ISUP familiarity is a plus.
• Experience operating and maintaining applications running on UNIX platforms.
• Knowledge of E911 solutions for VoIP or Wireline or Wireless networks is a plus.
• Experience defining performance metrics and KPIs for E911 services or VoIP signaling and voice networks is a plus.
• Familiarity with various IP networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, and IP Multicast.
• Experience with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a plus.
• Experience retrieving and altering information from database through SQL queries.
• Perl/Shell scripting ability is a plus.
• Hands on experience with protocol analyzers.
• Proven history of analyzing situations and employing creative solutions.
• Ability to multi-task without losing focus of critical details.
• Outstanding written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to excel in a team environment that emphasizes total cooperation and mutual respect.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 5-Year minimum years experience directly supporting telephony applications in a UNIX environment.
• Hands on experience with telephony protocols such as VoIP (SIP/SDP/RTP) and SS7 (ISUP, CAMA).

·         Familiarity with various IP networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and HTTP.
