• This is a front-end Senior Java Developer role.

• extJS, SmartClient, GWT (google web toolkit), Hibernate and Ajax are key skill sets.

• This is for our Excalibur application, which is an end-to-end clearing and exchange fee reconciliation tool that handles $1.5 billion annually.

• It is a fast-paced environment and architecture skills are valuable.

 

Technical Skills Required:

Primary :- Strong J2EE/Java skills, Hibernate, Multi Threading, Transaction Management, Strong SQL/Data base

Web Technologies :- Ajax, SmartClient , extJS , GWT , JSP, Servlets, Struts (exposure to Tag Libraries), Java Script

Application Servers: - Weblogic 10.*

Application Development :- Caching Technologies (Tangosol Coherence), Unix Shell Scripting, PL/SQL and Store Procedures with various data sources like Oracle, Sybase/Db2

 

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:

Essential

• 9 - 10 years of hands on work experience in large scale projects in the Financial Industry

• Experience with high performance & high volume distributed enterprise systems in multi threading and data base performance tuning (workflow managers, hibernate)

• Strong database development capabilities

• Knowledge of design methodologies; design of complex multi dimensional schema

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

• Display sound analytical, problem solving, presentation and inter-personal skills to handle various critical situations

Desirable

• Hands-on with the design and implementation of Graphical User Interfaces

• Hands On knowledge of RIA systems with frameworks such as SmartClient, GWT, etxJS, etc.

• Ability to carry out adaptive changes necessitated by changes in Business Requirements and Technology

• Post Trade Processing Experience; Familiarity with Transactional costs of various securities, Trade Capture and Exception Handling,

• Masters Degree in Computer Science or Engineering

 

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

• The individual will be responsible for developing new business functionality and new GUI features of a variable transactional expense system

• Create extremely creative J2EE based Graphical User interfaces using various current technologies under stringent business deadlines

• Interact closely with the users during Unit Testing, Integration, UAT and PROD rollout

• Working with Off Shore (CoE) teams
