Position:  Cognos Tester

Location: Cleveland, OH 

Duration: 6+ month contract

 

Skills:

• Ability to write and run SQL queries
• Working knowledge of Cognos tools (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio)  including demonstrable experience in using the same to fulfill business requirements
• Working knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts and structures
• Execute test cases to evaluate system quality compared to defined business requirements
• Document results of testing in the testing management tool
• Modify existing and create test cases as required based on requirements
• Identify and report defects for applications supported using proper procedures and tools
• Manage defect resolution process as needed
• Review requirements to evaluate accuracy and testability
• Actively participate in design review sessions
• Demonstrate creative thinking and identify ways to test beyond the obvious – a willingness to question the process and the requirements
• Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills through testing activities
