Title: .NET Developer
Location: Arlington, VA
Duration: 1+ year contract
Interview: In Person Only

Key Skills: ASP.NET MVC, C#, JavaScript, XML, full SDLC
•Provide full life-cycle development including design, development, testing and implementation of projects that support business goals.
•Take ownership of projects/tasks/issues and work them through completion.
•Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture and integration documentation.
•Participate in code reviews to ensure processes support existing architecture, follow defined guidelines and coding standards and meet user requirements.
•Monitor production NEB application, supporting applications and integrated web services via production monitoring solutions.
•Identify process improvements and enhancements to existing business and IT processes that will increase operating efficiencies.
•Maintain a current knowledge of industry trends related to .NET framework development, Service-Oriented Architecture, and web services through vendor training, seminars and conferences.
•Collaborate with end users and provide exceptional customer service by becoming a trusted business advisor.
•Adopt and model NRECA’s Internal Services banner, "Listen, Understand, Communicate, then Deliver" to facilitate providing excellent customer service to all NRECA customers and co-workers.
Accomplishments in first 12 months: One rotation of backup production support duties, application delivery on I&FS projects with milestones met, establishment of working knowledge of major components of NEB system and NEB interfaces and the NEB development framework
Required skills and experience
Skills: experience in each of the areas as follows
· 3+ years of progressive systems development experience utilizing a full System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
· 2-4 years’ experience with programming/scripting language/tools required (as appropriate: JavaScript; HTML; XML; C#; ASP.NET)
· Experience with relational database design and development using MS SQL Server or other comparable RDBMS
· Proven experience diagnosing and resolving problems
· Familiarity with automated unit testing methodologies and tools such as NUnit
· Experience leading others in the development and deployment of mid-to-large size projects
· Experience with the Model View Controller pattern in the context of web applications (using frameworks such as Ruby on Rails or Asp.Net MVC)
· Experience working on agile self-organized, cross-functional teams.
· Knowledge of agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Extreme Programming, and Lean UX.
· Familiar with agile principles, processes, and methods such as iterative and incremental development, continuous integration, test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, code refactoring, pair programming, and Scrum ceremonies.

Knowledge:
· Software development best practices
· Project life cycle methodology for application development
· JIRA work management tool is a plus
· Insurance & Healthcare industry knowledge is a plus
· TeamCity or comparable continuous integration server
· Experience with Umbraco or other ASP.net based CMS
· Backbone, Angular or experience with a comparable JavaScript library

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems Technology or 4-6 years of equivalent experience.
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD), and/or related industry
