Team
- They are a pretty quiet team of 5-8 very senior developers, physically present M-F in Philly.
- They do full-stack development, 90% of it in Java.
- They handle a very distributed environment across many different datacenters and locations.
Role
- Mid-level to senior, 8+ yrs' experience in front-end, back-end and full-stack.
- This is a tough-to-fill role, seeking someone with strength in Java, UI skills, AND experience working in a distributed environment.

- They must easily hold their own during architecture-level discussions in a team of very experienced front-end Java developers, both technically and personality-wise.
- They will work with other developers. When they take on features, they should be able to take a feat and run with it from an implementation standpoint, at a modicum at the design level.
- A background in real-time or near real-time, and OTP, would have an easier time getting through the screening process. A batch-processing background would be a poor fit.
- This role is a contract to hire; they want a long-term employee.
Required
- Local candidate.
- Java 8 (or above).
- Front-end Javascript framework is a distinguishing feature. JQuery is preferred, but other frameworks are acceptable.

- Critical thinking skills: they're comfortable assessing and critiquing user stories, has worked with Business Analysts to identify gaps and gather that kind of info.
Nice-to-Have
- Bachelor's
