Need Build Release Engineer/Devops Engineer

Dallas, TX

12 Months

Responsibilities:

·         Automating build, release/deployment, manual processes and workflows

·         Ensure that software builds happen predictably, consistently and reliably

·         Manage risks and resolve issues that affect scope, schedule, and quality

·         Support and improve our tools, infrastructure and processes that support rapid and reliable delivery of high-quality software to our production service.

·         Advocate for improving our build and release tool chain.

·         Support deployment activities of development, qa and production releases including troubleshooting of release blockers

·         Work closely with development teams, scrum master, deployment admin, product manager and QA team for smooth deployment

Required Skills:

·         BA/BS in computer science or similar

·         5+ years of DevOps and/or build & release experience including delivery to production

·         Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins

·         Deep understanding of version control systems (Serena Dimensions, Git etc.), including branching and merging strategies

·         Experience with continuous delivery and integration tools: Jenkins, Release Automation(RA)

·         Experience with build/SCM tools: ANT, Maven and Gradle

·         Experience writing build scripts using Python, Unix Shell (bash,ksh) or perl

·         Hands-on Unix/Linux knowledge

·         Experience in managing WebSphere Application Server, Commerce server and Portal server

·         Experience in setting and administering SonarQube  for continuous code quality

·         Experience in Jenkins, Selenium and SonarQube integration setup

·         Demonstrates sound technical skills with a strong working knowledge of scripting

·         Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability

·         Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in an Agile development framework

·         Excellent organization and prioritization skills

·         Adaptive and able to learn quickly while working to meet tight deadlines at an accelerated pace

·         Ability to provide after-hours support as needed for emergency and mange monthly production deployment or urgent situations

Preferred Skills:

·         Working knowledge of HP PPM and JIRA for project and process management

·         Working knowledge of DB/Data Platforms: Oracle, DB2

·         Familiarity with SDLC and Cloud  computing

·         Ability to present and manage deployment meetings with all the stakeholders in software development and deployment process

·         Ability to learn new skills based on requirement and implement quickly
