Data Architect , Dallas, TX , 6 + Months contract

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The Enterprise Data Architect | is an entry-level data structure developer, data infrastructure designer and is fully competent in a defined data delivery discipline or product. This position resolves semi-routine issues involving design, development and database redesign, and is typically assigned to design, retrofit or debug most aspects of a data-related product or major sub component. This person will be responsible for contributing development efforts to multiple systems that are under the core responsibility of the Data architecture team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: List essential duties and tasks that must be performed, in order of time spent or importance, with or without reasonable accommodation.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.

·         Develop understanding in data warehousing principles utilizing fact and dimension tables, star and snowflake schema data modeling and data normalization

·         Analyze the current state innovation, product development and manufacturing operating model, including organizational constructs, business processes, systems, information and data

·         Analyze, design and implement new/improved operational capabilities in our master data architecture

·         Take part in strategy roadmap for the enterprise; including data modeling, implementation and data management for our enterprise data warehouse and advanced data analytics systems

·         Understand data governance and value of accurate master data and metadata

·         Assist with development and implementation of strategies for data warehouse following industry best practices

·         Provide support to enterprise data infrastructure management and analysts throughout the project cycle to ensure development of efficient data systems utilizing established standards, procedures and methodologies (i.e. design reviews, architect reviews).

·         Assist execution of data architecture using industry best practices.

·         Conduct systems architecture studies of new and existing data infrastructure; develop tactical plans to address short-term deficiencies in current data architecture.

·         Develop Business requirements understanding by reviewing technical - documents.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience:

·         6 months or more experience, using SQL Server Management Studio and experience) Business Intelligence Development Studio, or equivalent toolsets.

·         Must understand Database principles.

·         Must have Good knowledge of writing SQL.

·         Knowledge of SQL Server internals.

 

The following are preferred:

·         Data modeling understanding.

·         ETL understanding.

·         Data warehousing understanding.

·         SSIS, or equivalent extraction/transformation tools

·         SQL procedures and DB structures development and optimization
