Position: Digital / Visual UI Designer
Location: Benton Harbor, MI
Duration: 1+ year
Job Responsibilities:
Create compelling and inspiring digital designs for connected home appliance products and services that stand out in the marketplace.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members throughout the design phase to address iterative feedback and to ensure optimal design execution.
Generate high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and pixel-perfect visual designs based on UX flows.
Apply UI best practices to drive innovation and ensure visual solutions are highly scalable across multiple applications Contribute to develop our Design Systems for the different brands to create amazing user experiences.
Work with the development team to provide guidance and validate the implementation.
Engage with content repositories and systems to ensure graphics are cataloged appropriately.
Audit early software builds to ensure the team's vision is being properly applied (QA).
Foster the future Actively seek and share digital inspiration (creative, technology, general digital trends).
Must Have Skills:
Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industry experience in designing & creating digital product or mobile user experiences.
Basic knowledge and understanding of atomic design principles and its possible application (design systems) Proficient in the latest digital design tools including Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Abstract, Zeplin, as well as a strong understanding of Android and IOS.
Design portfolio showcasing a variety of digital projects (roles and responsibilities on each project must be clearly stated in the portfolio).
Expertise in design basics including Typography, Color Theory, and Layout across different form factors.
Great attention to detail and ability to identify visual discrepancies between the original design intent and the provided result, down to the pixel level.
Ability to combine information from a UI style guide, UX wireframe, and a content management system to (mentally) visualize the final design intent.
Understanding and basic knowledge of usability and user centered design principles and methodologies.
Strong written communication, and experience working with external development teams.
Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
