Job Title: Senior Oracle DBA
Location: PA

Rate : $50/hr
Job Description:
This is a high visibility project. They are in development now. The project is heavily focused on business intelligence and data warehousing.
Microstrategy is the primary technology that they are leveraging. They are building an analytics capability.
The size of the DB which will support this system will grow to 10 Terabytes within 3 years, which means that the person should have experience in a large corporate environment.
· This individual should be very savvy and possess extremely good communication skills, both oral and written.
· They will need to be able to speak BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE and MICROSTRATEGY.
· The cross functional team (which includes the app team) is looking for someone to provide quick resolution time for issues.
· responsible for troubleshooting when something fails.
· They will also be addressing performance tuning issues as apparently there has been some problems encountered with DB size.
· They will be there to help work through issues 'real time' with the app team.
· This person should be very self sufficient.
· Experience with business intelligence projects in the past so that they are familiar and can comment on things they have seen occur in the past and what was done to resolve them.
· While it would be desirable for the person to have Microstrategy experience (not that they have to work with the tool), experience in any related tool (i.e. Cognos, Business Objects, etc.) maybe ok given their level of involvement on specific projects.
· They should know things like 'CUBES' and what their output is and what their potential impact(s) might be on a DB.
· 75% of the person's time will be spent sitting with this particular app group (it's across the street from where the DBA group sits) and the other 25% will be spent sitting with the DBA group.
· Experience in the energy and utility industry would be a huge plus.
