Description:

Responsibilities:
· As part of the Enterprise Storage Management team, you will support the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services storage requirements across the IBM mainframe, SUN Solaris, and Windows environments.
· Storage components may include: SAN, NAS, DAS, replication devices, caching devices, and related components. Support includes:
· Provide 24 * 7 support including trouble-shooting and project-related activities. Add/install, configure, and tune storage software on all host platforms.
· Adhere to security procedures for both logical and physical protection of servers, fiber switches and storage arrays.
· Use independent judgment and creativity to interface with customers in order to resolve system, application, and end user issues.
· Performing root cause analysis and determine the cause of problems in order to develop a specific solution to an issue. Work with Change Control and Availability Management to ensure corrective actions are taken.
· Install/de-install and configure storage servers and related systems; assist business users and Storage Engineers with the setup and installation of their applications and tests within the storage environment.
· Work with other technical teams to gather requirements; determine, document, and propose viable solutions; implement the selected solution. Assume technical responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously.
· Assess and baseline the current storage environment. Calculate the data growth rate for short and long term planning and trending. Report on growth/trending, use, capacity, and performance within the Storage sub-systems and arrays.
· This position requires excellent communications and organizational skills, teamwork, and adaptability.

Education:
