Title: Wintel/Active Directory Engineer

Location: St Joseph, Michigan

Duration: 6 months

 

The specific requirements are:

- Initiate changes and improvements to the Windows Server and Active Directory environment

- Support project requests for new servers with configurations and quotations

- Define and direct implementation of infrastructure needs to support a Windows 7 environment.

- Define and direct implementation of Group Policy objects for Windows 7 and improved security patching.

- Coordinate with Operations and IBM to develop a list of server business owners and methods of communication.

What You Will Do:

• Work closely with the Infrastructure Delivery, Capacity Planning and Operations teams to support and facilitate project requests. Estimated time spent on these responsibilities is 45%.

• Support the End User Services team in achieving their priorities including Windows 7 development, Software Standardization implementation and improved security patch processes. Estimated time spent on these responsibilities is 50%.

• Review results, roadblocks and progress with the PC Engineering team on a regular basis for direction and assistance. Estimated time spent on these responsibilities is 5%.

What You Need To Succeed:

The ideal candidate will have had extensive experience with Active Directory and Wintel servers with an emphasis on Group Policy Objects and scripting. Also required is experience with deployment of the Windows 7 Operating System and its infrastructure requirements. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical subjects to non technical audiences. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills in previous responsibilities.

No domestic travel is required. Duties may require working extended hours or weekends.

The position is required to help us maintain the support of the Active Directory and Wintel environment and so we may achieve our goals for Windows 7/PC Refresh, Software Standardization, and improved security patching. The specific requirements are:

- Initiate changes and improvements to the Windows Server and Active Directory environment

- Support project requests for new servers with configurations and quotations

- Define and direct implementation of infrastructure needs to support a Windows 7 environment.

- Define and direct implementation of Group Policy objects for Windows 7 and improved security patching.

- Coordinate with Operations and IBM to develop a list of server business owners and a method to communicate pending server changes
