Position:Data Architect

Location:Dearborn, MI

Duration:6+ Months

 

Position Description:

·         Work with application teams to gather requirements and develop logical & physical data models

·         Work with application teams to understand data requirements and develop new data structures for online transaction (OLTP) and data warehouse (OLAP) databases

·         Create Database Change Requests and Data Definition Language (DDL) to create and maintain database structures.

·         Perform impact analysis on data structure changes

·         Define and enforce Ford Credit database standards

·         Service technical and data requests from the business and IT areas

·         Work with application teams and Database Administrators (DBA's) to implement SQL that minimizes contention and maximizes efficient use of the data structures

·         Maintain the integrity of the database by identifying and resolving conflicts concerning the data

·         Provide on-call support including database change verification

·         Maintain data dictionary information provided by customer such as column and table descriptions

·         Formalize data propagation requests

Skills Required:

·         Experience in database design with transactional or analytical databases

·         Two years of database application development with an advanced SQL programming background

·         Experience in DB2, Teradata, Oracle or SQL Server DBMS and knowledge of associated tools

·         Strong technical aptitude, able to multi-task and be flexible to respond to changing priorities.

·         Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills

 

Skills Preferred:

·         Data Modeling tools such as ERWin or Oracle Designer

·         Data Modeling or prior DA experience

·         Team or project leading experience

·         Technical leadership capabilities

 

Experience Preferred:

·         COBOL or Java experience

·         Mainframe TSO and JCL experience
