Duration: 6 Months
Job responsibilities would include:
Conduct deep technical analysis of current application design, review system documentation, and participate in application code reviews with current development team.
Participate in Business Requirements reviews and work with systems analysts to fully document application changes required.
Enhance the FEP Local system (currently supporting CareFirst-only claims processing) to a multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) application capable of processing claims for other Blues Plans.
Develop a standard ETL processes for multiple Plan data.
Provide Java expertise and best practices for current and future state technology roadmap.
Collaborate effectively with team members, business and executive sponsors across all functional areas, including external BCBS Plan technical and business teams.
Additional technical duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications (preferences are in bold)
Bachelors degree
8+ years working with J2EE programming, 3-tier service oriented architecture
5+ years database development experience – Oracle Preferred
Healthcare Industry experience
Demonstrated experience with Agile SDLC and test driven development
Experience with high-volume transaction systems, web services, and GUI development (Apache Wicket, Struts, Hibernate)
Excellent communication skills
Must be attentive to detail, highly-organized, and able to multi-task.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
