Need: Tester with Market Data exp.

JOB TITLE: Tester/Tester (Market Data)

Location: Chicago,IL

Duration: Long Term

Must have Market Data experience.

 Activities:

•       Extract data from Exchange's market data files to a usable format for comparison

•       Determine the software change that was made, the potential impact on the market data, and what data can be affected

•       Determine what should be checked in the market data files and what errors could occur

•       Compare the data before and after the software change/fix and identify the differences

•       Analyze the differences and determine which differences are valid and which differences are a potential error

•       Work with the Developer to resolve or reconcile differences that are potential errors 

 

Technical Skills:

•       Ability to use Linux command language to access and work with files

•       Proven advanced SQL skills to write queries against the database

•       (Recommended) Proven ability to write Python scripts to extract and compare data files

 

Other Skills

•       Experience working in the Trading industry with knowledge of Exchanges

•       Client facing skills (will directly interact with client)

•       Ability to work with ambiguity and subjectivity in reviewing data

•       Ability to quickly ramp-up to learn the data validation process from current Sr tester

•       Excellent verbal and written communication skills (proper grammar/spelling)

•       Ability to organize and plan own work activities to meet deadlines.

•       Ability to develop test plan/ test strategy with little or no guidance
