Job Description -

Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the Senior QA Engineer is responsible for:

Implementing testing processes, tools and systems, testing methodologies, and best practices in a fast paced Agile/Scrum team environment. 

Translate stories, business and technical requirements into test cases leveraging your existing and rapidly acquired HR domain knowledge 

Perform manual functional testing as needed, with an eye to improving testing efficiency for the product and implementations of the product 

Develop and maintain custom test frameworks, code level unit tests and all other automated test scripts to minimize manual testing 

Create a learning environment for your peer QA team mates; apply your testing knowledge and discipline to mentor team members 

Define and develop performance test plans; execute performance, load, and stress tests on large scale client applications; identify performance bottlenecks and reco mmend ongoing performance optimizations

Required Skills

6+ years of hands-on software quality assurance in a software product environment

2+ years of software development experience 

Hands-on experience with source code and defect tracking tools such as Mercurial, Rally, and automated testing and code coverage tools such as Selenium, Neotys, etc. 

Proficient in SQL (Oracle), XML, XSL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 

Excellent knowledge and understanding of web protocols and technology: browser, HTTP, AJAX, Flash, AngularJS 

Ability to program in one high level language (Java or JavaScript preferred) and proficient in scripting languages 

Knowledge in Java tools and APIs

Proficient in OOA/D: understanding of design patterns, relationship between design and implementation, reading/interpretation of technical design documents and discussions 

Knowledge of Application Server and Web Servers: Tomcat, Apache 

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal 

Problem solver, self-starter, detail oriented, team oriented, good work ethics 

Experience mentoring QA team members 

Able to act as both an individual contributor and plan, estimate and coordinate the efforts of other QA team members 

Ability to understand and review technical documentation, including Project plans, test procedures, and design documents 

Must be detail oriented. Excellent testing skills and test planning experience required 

Experience in the HR business domain is a plus 

Experience working in an Agile based methodology is a plus
