Title: Java Developers
Location: San Francisco area, CA
Duration: 12+ Months contract possible of extensions
Coding Test: candidate will be taking a Hacker Rank online coding assessment to judge their skills.
Client is looking for back-end Java developers. This is an eCommerce backend payment system that is being developed that's similar to Square (www.squareup.com).
About the Opportunity:
The client is looking for Java developers with front-end, back-end and full stack experience. In this role you will contribute to the building of a global marketplace that ties into multiple systems utilizing the Point-of-Sale (POS) platform to create integrations for new products and new capabilities.
Qualifications:
Experience in API interface design
Best practices in database design, efficiency and scalability
Knowledgeable in solutions architecture with a focus on scalability and high-availability applications
Familiar with security best practices
Able and willing to take initiative; a natural self-starter who is capable of working with little supervision if necessary
Team player/mentor – willing to work collaboratively with others and to coach other team members with less experience
Responsibilities:
Design and implement REST APIs for mobile and web clients including payment devices, web dashboard, and 3rd party applications
Identify technical requirements and assist the business team with planning and feature development
Transforming product requirements into functional, maintainable and scalable software that meets company objectives
Ability to own client-facing services and features from development through deployment and production monitoring
Collaboration with the Infrastructure Team to design data models in support of large-scale, high-availability services
Participate with the QA team in developing test plans and strategies
Required/Desired Skills and Attributes:
Strong Java coding skills with an interest in working with multiple parts of the stack
Experience with multi-threading, J2EE, EJB, Hibernate, Spring and/or other standard Java development related technologies
Experience with API design, particularly REST
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Familiarity with MySQL
Highly Desired (Not Required):
Experience developing on a cloud platform is highly desired (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
Experience with Ember.js and/or Netty Frameworks
Experience developing Mobile Apps on Android and/or iOS
Experience in Data Analysis
Experience developing in other languages (HTML, Python, JavaScript, etc)
