	SKILLS SET:   KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Bachelors degree - preferably in computer science - or equivalent experience 2. Masters degree in computer science preferred 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 4. 8+ years of overall RDBMS experience with expert level on at least one database engine and working knowledge of several others. 5. Ability to design state of the art database schemas for both OLTP and Data Warehouse realms. 6. Expert level database tuning abilities. 7. Deep understanding of DBA responsibilities and DBA level knowledge of at least one of RDBMSs. 8. Experience with MySQL is a big plus. 9. Ability to learn new systems and their internals fast. 10. Candidate must enjoy a fast-paced environment and possess strong software engineering skills. 11. Ability to adapt to new development environments, changing business requirements and learning new systems highly desired 12. Understanding of web services software architectural and design issues. 13. Strong technical vision, presentation and technology leadership skills. 14. Ability to lead code reviews and technical design meetings. 15. Experience with high volume transactional systems highly preferred. 16. Experience with E-Commerce or other order processing systems is a must. 17. Working knowledge of Linux OS is highly preferred.   JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for Architects, who will work with the development teams, in evaluating, designing and architecting database solutions to meet business needs. This covers both OLTP and Data Warehousing worlds. As a member of the team, you will have the chance to work on unique and innovative solutions on a highly scalable eCommerce platform. This position requires imaginative thinking and the ability to apply new methodologies to design complex solutions. The online channel is a key focus area for the company and is growing at an aggressive rate, creating an exciting workplace and utilizing your skills to their potential. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Together with other technical leads and management - the candidate will establish the strategic direction for eCommerce technologies. . Lead a team of database developers and DBAs (directly or indirectly) to design all aspects of OLTP / Data Warehouse DBs, with a focus on reuse. . The ability to design and deliver high quality and high performance software is an essential requirement. . This position will be involved in all phases of product development from review of functional specifications through assisting with the design and oversight of the development activities. . Be very hands-on; work with the development team to manage the day-to-day development activities by leading architecture decisions, participating in designs, design review, code review, and implementation. . Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with management and development team in bringing new technologies. . Candidate must be able to work with a minimum of technical supervision and supplemental engineering support, while responding efficiently to multiple program priorities . Participate in technology forums and industry user groups . Communicate the business value of architecture components to senior management team. Role Measurements: .
