Interview process will be a phone interview first followed by a face to face.

Position: Java Developer

Position Type: Contract to hire

Location: Allentown, PA

Rate: $Open/hr

The following are must haves:

• Not more than 5 years of experience
• Citizen, EAD or Green card
• Excellent communication skills
• Interview face to face
• They are not interested in web developers. They are looking for someone with experience with stand alone applications.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing a complex business software application, specifically the proprietary administration application. This position is responsible across the full software development cycle and will perform production design, bug verification, and beta support which may require research and analysis

 

Essential Functions:

• Participate in software design meetings and analyze user need to determine technical requirements.
• Modify, repair, or expand existing programs to correct errors, increase efficiency, upgrade interfaces, or improve performance to meet client expectations.
• Develop and maintain complex back-end applications under general supervision.
• Build or configure the system to perform business functions.
• Perform tests and complete analysis on software and systems to identify problems.
• Produce technical or procedural documentation, training manuals or instructions for end users
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented software
• Research and remain informed of new technology and development tools
• Maintain application design integrity
• Maintain a client service approach.
• Maintain and company values.

Additional Responsibilities:

• May participate in off-hours beeper support rotation.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential:

• Proficiency with Java, especially J2SE.
• Proficiency in Object Oriented analysis, design, and programming
• Proficiency in debugging.
• Proficiency in reading, understanding, and working with existing code bases.

Beneficial:

• Familiar with Design Patterns and UML notation.
• Familiar with use for profiling tools for execution analysis
• Familiar with algorithm analysis and design
• Familiar with Eclipse, JBuilder, or equivalent Java IDE.
• Experience with scripting ANT, Unix/Linux shell, Windows batch files a plus.
• Experience with source code control tools and best practices
• Experience working in a software development life cycle environment.
