Location: Evansville, IN
Duration: 6 Months
 Starting from August 2nd 2010

Job Description:

DataStage Lead Developer to assist our direct manufacturing client for 6 months starting in August.

This position will be the lead technical designer/developer for InfoSphere ETL processing for the Reporting and Analytics Data Warehouse project and support of the EMDR project through testing and defect remediation.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a solid understanding of the EMDR and R&A DW requirements to successfully perform in the role of the InfoSphere Designer/Lead Developer
- Collaborate with project manager to:
1. Ensure the EMDR and R&A DW project plans include the necessary level of detail to insure successful delivery of the InfoSphere ETL environment
2. Provide input and expertise as the Design, Test Plan, Test Summary and other SDLC/Validation mandated documents are created.
3. Communicate status and necessary information to Project Manager for inclusion in weekly status reports
4. Resolve issues, ensure appropriate documentation is developed, track work items, provide advice on project scope questions and manage project dependencies
5. determine timing for on-boarding of additional development resources
- Provide guidance on the appropriate usage of InfoSphere Data Stage and Information Service Director to enable the successful implementation and leveraging of these tools
- Create an appropriate technical design from a logical design to extract, transform and load data into SAP and Oracle databases
- Provide guidance to developers to implement the technical design in a very tight time frame
- Assist in development as deemed appropriate/necessary to meet timelines
- Assist in technical plan and implementation for production usage, promotion of process, scheduling, performance tuning, etc.

Requirements:

Solid experience in technical design and development of complex ETL processing within InfoSphere DataStage
- Solid experience in design, development, and management of job creation/execution/scheduling with Information Service Director.
- Experience with development of complex ETL processing with SAP data is required
- Experience with the DataStage SAP R/3 pack is desired
- Experience with XML is desired
- Experience with Java is desired
- Experience with DataStage parallel engine/canvas is required.
- Experience with DataStage Basic is desired
- Experiencing with using InfoSphere Data Stage against Active Directory is desired
- Experience with implementing the ETL solution in a global environment with regional responsibilities is desired

 

There is quite the mix of required skills for this position.  I am not seeing much in the way of Information Service Director experience on resumes.  Here is a link on IBM's web site about it:   http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/infosphere/information-services-director/
I don't know if people are calling this skill something else on there resume or not.
