Location: Palo Alto, CA.
Duration: 6-12 Month Project

Description:
I have a novel client on the leading edge of technology who is currently seeking a Mobile Application Developer (Android) to join their Palo Alto, CA team. The landscape of technology is rapidly changing especially since the popularity of the iPhone, iPad, and Android platforms. The ideal IT professional will be working alongside both visual and interface designers. As one of the mobile developers you will be responsible for contributing both to product design and development execution of innovative mobile applications and frameworks. You must possess an unwavering desire to drive innovation with regards to Mobile and Emerging Media / Applications. Here is what they are looking for:
Provide strategic consulting to clients as it relates to all mobile solutions, including contributions during the pre-sales lifecycles as well as during active engagements
Collaborate in cross-functional teams and explore creative opportunities on mobile platforms specifically Android.
Be responsible for breaking down large/complex problems and be involved and/or lead the process of design and implementation of solutions.
Contribute feedback and guidance to the development of functional and technical specifications.
Work with other developers to set standards and define best practices for coding and design. 
Minimize our exposure and risk on projects by proactively identifying and resolving risks and issues
Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Responsible for scoping, planning, and managing mobile projects
Create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities
Stay abreast of the latest technology, tools and design methodologies
Work closely with all facets of the Agency to ensure quality delivery in the engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:

Android SDK
Firm understanding of building mobile applications that utilize web-services (either HTTP based, XML, SOAP, JSON or other services), in order to tie our applications to critical server-side APIs
4+ years of software design and development experience using Java and familiar with Netbeans and other development environments
C/C++/C# experience
Knowledge of a scripting language a plus (Ruby, Perl, Python, BASH, etc)
Must have excellent problem solving skills and love technical challenges
Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task
Must be able to take initiative to be productive and efficient
Agency experience a big plus
Should be familiar with version control (Git)
Experience building Android applications using a SDK is a plus—a strong preference is reserved for applicants who have contributed to Applications that have been available to the public
Experience with the distribution of Android applications is a plus
Expertise of advanced software engineering concepts, most importantly object oriented design.
A firm understanding of building mobile applications that utilize web-services (either HTTP based, XML, SOAP, JSON or other services), in order to tie our applications to critical server-side APIs.
Ability to contribute to or lead a cross-functional team (including QA, Product Management, Marketing, etc).
Expertise or familiarity with well-designed user interfaces, specifically for Android, iPhone or other common mobile devices.
Demonstrated dedication for creating well-designed interfaces, or a desire to continuously improve design and interfaces for new products and existing products to adhere to more sensible Human-Computer-Interaction principles.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.  Effective at collaborating with product management and UI team to help define and specify requirements.
B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study and be eligible to work in the United States.
