Role: Network Engineer with Ethernet and L2 Protocol

Location: Middletown, NJ

Job Description:

Experienced engineering candidate sought to plan and execute certification testing of Ethernet networking equipment. As a member of the team, candidate will lead functional, interoperability, scale/performance and service related certification activities for new Ethernet infrastructure and services. In addition, you will work closely with outside equipment vendors, internal design engineers and operations groups to identify product issues and improvements to ensure that AT&T service and operational requirements are satisfied. Required Qualifications: -Knowledge of Ethernet switching technologies, services, and IEE/IETF/MEF standards used in the implementation and operation of carrier Ethernet networks -Specific experience developing or testing Ethernet services, network management, and performance measurement capabilities used in carrier Ethernet networks -Specific experience developing software programs and tools (i.e., Shell, Perl, TCL, JAVA) to support automated test execution and data collection/analysis -In depth knowledge and strong experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos -Knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VPLS, VRRP, TE-FRR, SSH, SNMP) and L2 Protocols (VLAN, STP, PVST, LACP) -Specific experience testing network features: ACLs, QOS, COS, Traffic Shaping, Queuing -Hands on experience integrating network hardware including firewalls, routers, switches, probes/Taps, terminal servers. -Knowledge of DNS, IP addressing, DHCP, TFTP, NAT Desired Qualifications: -Specific experience with Ethernet test equipment from Spirent, IXIA, ANUE, JDSU, sniffers including wireshark network instruments. -Previous experience as technical lead of a small test/tier support team -Network certification training (CCNP/JNCIS, CCIE/JNCIE) a big plus
