ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Works in the Test Engineer role through the use of, but not limited to:
° Requirements Analysis and Test Scenario development;
° Development of the manual and automated test scripts;
° Set up and execution of the manual or automated test scripts;
° Logging & recording of the test outcomes/results;
° Daily reporting of the progress/status of the test execution;
° Analysis and recovery from the execution errors;
° Assist with the maintenance of the test scripts library;
° Status Reporting;
° Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and open communications.
2. Coaches and mentors other Test Engineers in their daily tasks and the implementation of processes and techniques;
3. Assists Manager and QA Lead on various testing techniques and tools, issues related to test analysis, scripting, execution, results reporting and monitoring and their recommendations for improvement.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Work Experience:
· 3 - 5 years in software testing web services in test driven development environment;
· 3 - 5 years experience with the HP Mercury Quality Center;
· 3 - 5 years experience in the cable and/or phone industry field – desired;
Education & Training:
Ø Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent technical experience is required;
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
Ø Proven ability with:
· Developing test scripts in manual and automated test environments for Web Services using (Mandatory: HP ServiceTest, Mandatory: soapUI, Good to Have: Parasoft SOA Test, Good to Have: SOAPtest)
· Web Services test execution including troubleshooting;
· HP Mercury tools, including QualityCenter and ServiceTest – Nice to have: QuickTestPro;
· Test driven development (TDD) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience;
· Risk Based and/or Rapid Software Testing principles;
· Defect Management (defect logging, tracking, analysis, and validation);
· XML knowledge (script writing and reading) – basic XSL / XSLT also nice to have;
· Strong ANSI-92 or T-SQL query skills in either Oracle 10 or SQL Server environment
· Mid to strong development skills with JAVA/C/C++/JAVA Script.
Ø Solid understanding of project management principles in a agile or test driven methodology;
Ø Strong understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance;
Ø Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
Ø Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills. Good troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail required;
Ø Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
Ø Proficient PC skills required. Experience working with MS Office applications including MS Access;
Ø Good time-management skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple diverse projects concurrently.
