The Senior Performance Test Engineer is responsible for driving the definition and implementation and execution of a repeatable performance testing strategy for highly scalable, Web transaction and hosted services platforms as well as desktop applications. This is a hands-on position. Candidates must develop best practices and test plans and tools to facilitate performance, scalability, and stress testing of the Hosted Server applications. Work with cross functional teams to define performance metrics to measure and come up with use cases and data. Work with the Project Team to define performance acceptance criteria for applications. Drive the creation of automated performance testing. Drive and help define and establish benchmarking and performance metrics for release to release. Create and execute performance scripts using third party or in-house developed tools. You must be able to provide analysis of performance test results and recommend improvements. You must demonstrate working knowledge of Java, J2EE, .NET, and Web technologies.
Required Skills
The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * Candidates should have 6-years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering * Experience developing and running JMeter and Silk performance * Tests and gathers metrics including system metrics * Experience with Java Memory and CPU profiling and identifying bottlenecks * Good understanding of running JVMs in a Linux * Must be familiar with various standards like XML, SOAP, HTTP, HTTPS, etc. * Must have scripting experience using any scripting languages like Perl, Pythons, Shell, etc. * Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills * Previous experience designing, implementing, and analyzing benchmarks is a big plus * Must have hands-on experience using Silk, LoadRunner, or any other tools * Knowledge of systems internals and its impact on performance is a plus * Must be able to author plans and reports and adhere to schedules * Must be innovative, curious, and willing to take initiative* Must have very strong "in depth" performance analysis skills. *Ability to look deep within the system and diagnose issues(CPU, Memory Leaks, Database, Server, Application, etc) and work with developers to resolve on an as-needed basis. Not looking for someone to simply run tests.
