Mapping Applications and Web-based Map Services Developer

Description
Development of mapping applications and web-based map services

Development efforts include the ability to create and maintain mapping services that are intuitive, visually appealing, and properly tuned to perform well in the server environment and on the web. Design experience with mapping caches is a plus.

Duties include: Develop and maintain web applications built for the ArcGIS Server REST API (JavaScript and Silverlight)

The successful candidate should possess a strong understanding of coordinate systems and various map projections and should be able to create and maintain various geo-processing tasks via Python scripting

The successful candidate should possess the ability to work with and convert between a variety of data sources, including but not limited to: ArcSDE Feature Classes, shapefiles, .kml/.kmz files, .csv files, Excel spreadsheets, and DB2.

Candidate should have a solid technical understanding of ArcSDE Geodatabases, including knowledge of using SQL to perform spatial queries.


Required Technical SME areas: CANDIDATE MUST SHOW EXPERTISE IN THESE AREAS TO BE CONSIDERED:
ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server
Familiarity with Linux / Windows operating systems
ESRI ArcSDE
ESRI JavaScript API for ArcGIS Server
Ability to develop ArcGIS Geo-processing tasks preferably using Python
Solid understanding of object-oriented software development and design patterns
Strong Cartography Skills

Desired Technical SME areas:
Google Maps JavaScript APIs (vers. 2 and 3)
ESRI Silverlight API for ArcGIS Server (C# .NET)
Java J2EE
Websphere
Strong Python development beyond use of ESRI Arcpy site package
ESRI ArcGIS Network Analyst
ESRI ArcSchematics
