Location: Southern New Jersey

Rate: $DOE/hr on C2C

Job description :

This position will be responsible to design, develop, test and deploy SQL Server 2005/2008 software solutions which support our existing Production applications

and perform support tasks. This position supports the operational goals and profitability of by effectively utilizing software tools and hardware, to exceed internal

and external customer's expectations. She/he will report to an I.T. Technical Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Provide on-site and off-site application Production support

.
•Fully versed using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology to design, program, test and implement new features or enhancements as

required, to improve application functionality and efficiencies.

•This position focuses on more Windows based application development, than Web development.

•Requires very strong SQL and VB.Net development skills

•Create and maintain SSRS Reports, Crystal Reports and SSIS packages.

•Create business applications, to increase business value and profitability, both for the Client and our company.

•Assist with projects which leverage data, applications and reporting requirements.

•Solve critical production issues, such as application and/or database deadlocks.

•Create and manage technical design documentation, based upon specifications provided by Stakeholders.

•Design and create Database Objects, such as Tables, Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, user defined data types and functions as directed by the I.T. Team

Lead.

•Perform query optimization & performance tuning. using SQL Execution Plan, Performance Monitor and other DB tools.

•Coordinate with the I.T. Team Lead and/or I.T. Manager, system downtimes and deployment of latest database/application releases across all environments.

(Dev, UAT, Prod)

•Ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.

•Takes on ancillary projects, as assigned by the I.T. Manager and/or I.T. Team Lead.

•Is driven and has a sense of urgency to resolve production issues.

•Is a team player, who embraces new ideas and technologies.

•Has a "What Ever It Takes" attitude and puts in the effort and time to accomplish tasks.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

5 + Years

Languages: VB.NET, C, C#, VB 6.0, ASP, C++, T-SQL

Web Technologies: ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML Web Services, .NET Remoting, Win Forms, Web Forms, HTML, DHTML, CSS, ASP, XML, XSD, XSLT, SOAP

Database: MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, DB2, MS Access

Experience creating complex database queries, writing Constraints, Indexes, Views, Stored Procedures, Cursors and Triggers

Framework: .NET Framework 3.5, VMWare Environment

Designing Tools: Visual Studio.Net 2008, Windows SharePoint Services (WSS 3.0), MOSS 2007

Reporting Tools: Crystal Reports 8.5/9.0/10.5, Data Reports, SSRS

Scripting Languages: VB Script, Java Script, AJAX

OS: MS-DOS, Windows XP/2003/2008

Version Control: Team Foundation Server

REQUIREMENTS: (Specific knowledge, skills, education and abilities):

•Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field

•Over 5 years experience in an application Production support role

•Over 5 years experience in the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of applications and their related databases, using

Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008

•Experience in a Virtualized infrastructure (VMWare) would be a plus

•Must have clear and concise communication, presentation and documentation skills

•Microsoft Certification(s) would be a plus
