Job Description:

 

The VMware Engineer will help develop enterprise technology configuration standards and adapt enterprise solutions to specific business related requirements. The candidate will participate on a technology infrastructure team to implement enterprise and customer specific technologies into a managed production environment.

The candidate will drive virtualization related technology lifecycles. This includes sun-setting of current technologies, development of new/replacement technologies as well as working with the architecture team to review emerging technologies.

·  The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the VMware infrastructure in the lab and making all required changes, tracking and allocating available resources enterprise wide, tracking reserved and used resources enterprise wide and opening service requests with AAs MSPs for deployment into managed production environments.

·  Deploy VMs
Provision ESX Servers
Provision Enclosures
Provision blades
Manage capacity
Troubleshoot infrastructure

·   Minimum of 2+ years experience with virtualization related technologies.
Understanding of VMware best practices.
Familiarity with Security Principles and methods.
Good oral and written communications.
Ability to develop strategic technical documentation (standards documents, procedural documents).
Solutions focused with Enterprise perspective (reusable).
Self starter and team player.
