Project Description: Requirements Gathering and Reconciliation
• Independently gather requirements (with and without Use Cases) through facilitated sessions and/or individual interviews with client users.
• Reconcile and document requirements to ensure all client user needs are accounted for prior to the creation of the design document. May request guidance from more experienced Business Analysts.
• Maintain and apply a working knowledge of Requirement Gathering (e.g. with and without Use Cases).
• Research and identify gaps in existing and proposed solutions that require closure in order to realize the accomplishment of business goals and objectives.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
• Document, analyze and prioritize integrated requirements to ensure complete requirements are gathered and documented.
• Obtain customer signoff.
Analyze, Solve Business Problems, Test
• Evaluate solution alternatives and improvement opportunities to meet business requirements.
• Participate in the development of the business cases and solution proposals in support of improved functionality with regard to Return on Investment (ROI) and long-term firm benefit.
• Prepare documentation, including but not limited to, documents outlining methodology, new designs and major enhancements to existing systems.
• Diagnose and analyze simple business and system problems.
• Participate in and lead test planning and all test cycles using proven testing techniques.
• Able to execute as well as manage functional testing efforts.
• Experience using a project planning tool such as MS Project.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing activities.
• Effectively participate in change control and scope management efforts.
• Successfully identify, address, manage and escalate risks and issues.
Leadership
• Capable of assigning / reviewing work of Daugherty or client team members.
• Maintain experience in tracking and managing projects using MS Project or similar PM software.
• Coach less experienced Business Analysts, where necessary, in the analysis of basic business problems and interpretation of requirements.
Specific Line of Service (LOS) Knowledge
• Custom Application Development: Analyzes data without significant oversight but requires guidance in more complex situations. Executes SQL skills effectively and independently.
• Business Intelligence: Has experience working on a few data warehouse and/or data reporting projects but requires guidance in more complex situations. Executes SQL skills effectively and independently.
• Management Consulting: Has some experience contributing to a Management Consulting project.
Education Requirement
4-year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or Business-related studies.
Experience Requirement
Minimum of 3 years, typically 3-6 years related experience working in an IT department working on projects or serving customers in a business liaison role.
