Job description:
• We are looking for a Senior level Network Engineer to help develop,
design.
• This includes architectural definition, specification, design,
testing and hands on solutions of innovative solutions to solving our
Business needs.
• The ideal candidate will have a broad background in LAN/WAN and
Voice Design and Implementation; Network Services such as WAN
Optimization, Load Balancing, VoIP, Video Conferencing, Contact
Center, Multicast,… Although there is an Operations group to provide
tier one support, this position will require extensive hands on
experience in debugging and fixing production related problems that
are escalated to the Network Engineering group.
• A strong commitment to technical excellence and teamwork will be
required, as this individual will be in a position to influence and
lead change within the IT Organization.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware in a global
network environment
• Manage physical network connectivity in Data Centers and Remote
Sites
• Monitor network utilization, capacity, and quality.
• Detect, diagnose, and resolve network problems using methods that
minimally impact our Production Environment
• Participate in infrastructure capacity planning and expansion
activities
• Analyze current and new network service requirements and provide
appropriate solution proposals where needed
• Support systems and application teams in identifying and resolving
complex functional issues, helping to identify or rule out network
issues
• Provide peer review to other network engineers to validate proposed
configurations and designs. Participate in complex team projects in
both a contributor and lead role
• Maintain network security controls and compliance on all network
hardware
• Work with security team to establish network security standards and
assess network vulnerability
• Manage and work on tickets for Networking Group
• Support of VOIP Infrastructure
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience with Cisco equipment in a Production Environment
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or
equivalent work experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of L2 technologies-VLANs/VLAN tagging,
Spanning Tree, Etherchannel
• Comprehensive knowledge of L3 technologies-IP Subnetting, IP
routing, BGP, OSPF , VRRP
• Experience with physical layer technologies-Gig/10G Ethernet, CAT5/6
cabling, Fiber
• Experience with network load balancers (Cisco CSS, ACE, A10),
Proxies, and WAN Accelerators
• Experience with network security- firewalls/ACLs, VPN services
• Basic understanding of VOIP technologies
• Core Network Services - DNS, NTP, syslog
• Understanding of IPSEC and VPN Technologies
• Dedication to exceeding quality standards and providing services of
the highest caliber
• Excellent multi-tasking and leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; capable of
writing purchase justifications, training users in complex topics,
making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting
positively with cross functional Teams.
• Independent problem-solver, self-motivated, and has the ability to
work in a self directed workgroup
• IT operations knowledge – Ticketing Systems, Change Control, Asset
Management.
• Meticulous and well-documented work is an absolute must including
the ability to create Visio drawings of the network
• Ability to balance interruption with ongoing projects and deadlines
in a fast-paced work environment
• Knowledge of Cisco Product Family
• Protocols: OSPF, BGP, IGRP
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, L2/L3
• Cisco Unity, Call Manager, and Contact Center Express
• Cisco Certification, (CCIE), in one or more disciplines or in the
process of acquiring an CCIE
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks
• Experience with 802.1x implementations
• Experience with Cloud networking services
