Job Title: Micro Strategy Administrator

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: 6 Months Contract.

 

Project Request Details/Work Description:  

 

Configuration:

Rights in DEV and STAGE to modify VLDB and project configuration.

Ability to move objects from DEV to STAGE.

Must be able to work closely with all architects,  and suggest changes to change the environment variables within MSTR  to enable performance and load testing

Create duplicate projects in DEV and STAGE as and when required to facilitate development and testing

Co-ordinate with the support teams to keep DEV/STAGE environment STABLE to maximize availability of the development and testing time.

 

Project level configuration:

Project VLDB settings 

Project level DB Instance definition both in Dev and Stage

Project level security definition – Creation of new roles etc in development

 

Project/Report performance and stability:

Monitor project/report performance (partnership with MSTR COE/Architects, BITE, TD and other support teams)

Define/build enterprise manager reports to support project needs

Monitor Server performance(are servers running at high capacity or low capacity)

Monitor Report performance(are we meeting LOS)

Consult with architects and developers on VLDB/Configuration changes to support performance

Work closely with BI Tools and ITO for incident management, research and analysis, and root cause definition for the same.

Escalation path for project architects and developers

 

User management and clean-up:

Access request approvals and management of groups & roles

User clean-up

 

Special Requirements:

Hours: 8 am – 5 pm CDT.  Frequent face-to-face meetings at Target City Center, Minneapolis. 

 

Skills, Experience, Qualifications Required/Desired:

Required: MicroStrategy administration and development experience

Desired: MicroStrategy Certified Platform Administrator or Certified Engine Specialist
