Job title: Lead. QA Automation tester
Location: NYC
Duration: 6 months + (could be long-term)

Job Description

The primary objectives of this role are as follows:

• Developing test cases and ensuring high quality of delivered products.
• Design, implementation and documentation of QA test scripts ensuring complete functional test coverage. 
• Support all test activities, enhance, develop and execute manual and automated test scripts, record and track software discrepancies.
• Work with project stakeholders and developers to ensure that all aspects of the system have proper testing coverage and overall system reliability, performance and quality. 
• Ensure that all domain knowledge and test cases are articulated and structured well to enable swift execution by any other member of the QA team. 
• Execute test cases and manage resources to ensure quality releases of changes to the productions environment.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

• Establishing and maintaining a well-defined process between development and QA teams.

• Work closely with developers and clients on requirement review and prompt follow-up on open questions.
• Responsible for executing test scripts with a strong focus on teamwork and successful execution of the project.

COMPETENCIES

The following core technical compentancies are required:

• In depth experience in writing and executing test plans.

• Ability to generate test cases from requirements and technical specifications.
• Experience with software development and test life cycle.

• Experience with Windows and UNIX.

• Understanding of database design and ability to use SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Experience using test automation tools.

• Ability to script and increase usage of automation to reduce testing lead times.

• Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team.

• Ability to cope with changing test requirements.

• Good communication skills.
