Job Responsibilities
The Project Manager must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with diverse audiences, in both oral and written contexts, and should be comfortable giving and receiving feedback. Must be familiar with project management principles and able to take initiative.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Define project requirements with key business stakeholders.
• Manage sub-projects in relation to supporting internal efforts on the project.
• Work closely with the Lead Architect on project needs, follow-ups, and next steps from key project meetings.
• Understand project demands as it relates to our client and represent at appropriate project meetings.
• Review deliverables on behalf of our client and report issues to assigned project team.
• Identify risks and issues related to project implementation.
• Coordinate project activities for adherence to project plan and goals.
• Monitor results against established timelines, deliverables, tasks, dependencies, and associated technical specifications.
• Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, project checklists and budgets to meet established time frames, funding limitations and staffing availability.
• Prepare comprehensive supporting plans in the areas of quality control, risk management, change management, testing and other associated project management areas.
• Manage project development process to include monitoring project scope and change control processes.
• Perform work in association with industry recognized standards, guidelines, and practices.
• Adhere to established policy and procedures with respect to project management methodology quality assurance and other related standards.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum (5) five years of extensive hands-on experience with project management as the project manager with full accountability and financial responsibility.
• Minimum (5) five years of IT experience in one or more technical roles.
• Experience with and preparing project documentation such as detailed requirements.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management, end users and project team members.
• Ability to interact effectively with technical personnel and with a wide variety of technical resources.
• Ability to translate and communicate technical concepts, information, plans, and procedures to both technical personnel and non-IT business users.
• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to conduct detailed planning, and to perform risk assessments and their associated risk mitigation actions.
• Knowledge of the related IT standards and software (i.e., Microsoft office-Excel, Word, PowerPoint, project management tools).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills.
• Capacity to communicate complex technology concepts to non-technical audiences as well as program and business priorities to technical audiences.
• Ability to multi-task and flexibly adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment,
• Conflict resolution, consensus building and mediation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate
Additional Qualifications:
- Prefer individual with energetic, can-do approach to work, who tracks and follows up on tasks independently, who seeks out additional work, who recommends ways to improve upon current activities
- Prefer individual who has served in this capacity in a systems design and development environment, who responds quickly and with high quality, and has very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of information technology design and development.
