Position Description
This position will be focused on developing the analytical databases and maintaining analytical data infrastructure for Global Casualty ($8B in premium). This position will engage in projects that can be extremely complex, data intensive, and of the highest level of difficulty, each having significant impact on the business. Typically these challenges will require an innovative approach, whereby the employee will be expected to quickly assess and comprehend the situation then develop a practical problem solving strategy. The desired approach would then be confidently communicated to leadership team in a straightforward way with specifics on timing and expectations. The expectation is that the employee will be able to build analytical data sets from start to finish with little supervision. For this reason, gaining a thorough understanding of business specific data, strategies, and processes is critical for success.

Position Requirements
§ Bachelor's Degree, (Master's Degree preferred) preferably in computer programming, statistics, engineering, math, or equivalent combination of education and experience in directly related field.

• Requires technical aptitude, attentiveness to detail, ability/willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, and excellent communication skills 
• Minimum of 10 years' experience programming with SAS in support of data management and/or statistics functions 
• Expert in SAS programming, including base and macro. Strong knowledge of SAS/Graph, SAS/Stat products, and SAS EG. 
• Expert in SQL syntax. 
• Experience with Windows (XP) and UNIX (Solaris) operating systems. 
• Ability to create advanced SQL code to extract data from different data platforms, such as Teradata, IBM DB2, Oracle. 
• Well versed in database technologies such IBM DB2 (mainframe and open systems platforms), Oracle, Sybase and MS SQL Server, and able to access them via SAS/Access. 
• Ability to lead/manage multiple projects, complex projects, and staff with minimal assistance 
• Attention to detail and ability to independently resolve a variety of issues with minimal supervision 
• Motivated, self-starter that has a certain degree of creative thinking 
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
• Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands 
• Effective time management skill 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
