Job Title: Windows Admin

Location : Houston, TX

Duration:6 months

 

 

Owns and understands Client/Server technologies, understands and implements best practices, prepare the good knowledge based and share the knowledge with the team

Strong domain knowledge in the relevant Windows  technology areas  which includes

Windows Operating system administration

Collecting data & report from Perfmon.

Installation, Configuration and Management of Windows Servers 2008 and 2003

Setup and Management of DNS, WINS and DHCP

Administration of Windows Firewall.

Server Startup and Shutdown

• Identify tasks Affecting the Boot Process

• Customizing startup and shutdown services and processes

  Disk Space & File System Administration

• Resolving disk space problems (cleaning up the junk)

• Physical Disk configuration

• Physical Disk Movement

 

  OS Patch Upgrade and Updates

• Gather information about Windows Updates released by Microsoft.

• Obtaining Windows security Patches

• Identify relevant patches required for the system

 

  Active Directory and Group Policy Management

  User and Group Management

  Adding New Users and Groups

  Access Control Management

  Setting up File Access Permissions

  Resetting user passwords/Unlock accounts

 

  Toubleshooting Skills

  Analyze  system log and event viewer logs on the system in problem determination mode

  Identify performance bottlenecks – CPU, memory, disk, network

  Manage process – prioritize or kill for acceptable performance

  Use inbuilt OS tools / command to identify the trouble area and possible resolutions

 

  OS Patch Upgrade and Updates

  Gather information about Windows Updates released by Microsoft.

  Obtaining Windows security Patches

  Identify relevant patches required for the system

  Excellent experience in Windows server administration at advanced level for Windows 2008 and

Windows 2003 servers.

  Experience in Monitoring hardware and OS using any 3rd party tools

  Expertise in Backup and Restoration. Good in configuration of Backup using third party tools   and creaty policies as necessary.

  Good knowledge in server hardware management.

  Monitoring Hardware and OS.

  Responsibilities include providing 24 X 7 remote supports. Experience in handling L2/L3   issues.

  Good experience in ITIL process (Incident/Problem/change/vendor management)
