Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist - ETL

Position Responsibilities:

The QA Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes function according to both functional and technical requirements, and conform to best-practice guidelines where appropriate. The QA Specialist will assist the EDEN Solution team by investigating defects reported by clients and team members; writing, maintaining and executing quality assurance test scripts; investigating, recording and tracking defects and defect resolution; and conducting formal functional, regression, performance and other quality assurance testing. 

This is a hands-on position performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: 

• Working closely with Business Analysts and ETL Developers to understand the testing requirements

• Writing test scripts and creating test data

• Using and executing test scripts written by the QA Specialist and/or other team members

• Developing additional test cases for completeness when appropriate

• Executing ETL programs 

• Writing and executing SQL queries to examine test results

• Identifying anomalies, unexpected results, defects, etc. in testing results

• Providing detailed documentation of testing results

• Ensuring consistency across input/output files, messages, naming conventions, etc.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience testing ETL processes

• Experience with large scale data warehouses

• Strong SQL skills

• Excellent oral and written communication

• Attention to detail

• Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Understanding of the Healtcare  industry
