Skill-set
Should have around ten years of IT development experience. Must have exposure to different technologies including C#, Visual Basic .NET, Win Forms, VB 6, ASP, WPF, WCF, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.
Should have at least five years of experience working as an IT solutions architect performing design and development of complex systems with a focus on best practices for scalability, security, maintainability, and system performance using the full stack of Microsoft technologies. Experience with tax related systems is a plus.
Must have very good understanding and experience in developing solutions using different design patterns.
Should have at least one year of experience with integration tools like BizTalk.
SharePoint experience a plus.
Web, e-Commerce, social media, and mobile device related experience is a plus.
Two resources for Withholding Returns and Payment Site:
This project is a major initiative for Department of Revenue to develop a system to enable the business taxpayers of the Commonwealth to prepare, file and pay their withholding tax electronically via the internet. In lieu of mailing in a paper return and a paper check, the return and payment can be electronically submitted over the internet. Filing status of the previous twelve months, as well as details of any returns filed online, may be viewed. Any tax period with outstanding liabilities will be so indicated. A statement will also indicate if any liabilities exist for periods outside the twelve month history. It is a new development using VS 2010, C#, ASP .Net MVC, Oracle/SQL Server, WCF, messaging architecture and OO concepts.

This project is a major initiative for Department of Revenue to develop corporate tax processing system. Corporate Tax Filing Is a A2A Broker deals with communicating messages with IRS services and a backend processing system via WCF/Messaging architecture for retrieving and acknowledging Kentucky corporate tax filings. It retrieves, validates the messages (schema and business), exhausts the messages to an appropriate processing system, and acknowledges the processing results back to IRS gateway services. It is a new development using VS 2010, C#, Oracle/SQL Server, WCF, multi-threading, XML and XSD, messaging architecture and OO concepts.
Two resources for Corporate Tax Template:
This is a major project for the Department of Revenue to develop a system to complete corporate tax audits. The purpose of the system is to allow for the data entry and analysis of corporate audits. CTT integrates closely with the Assignment Tracking System (ATS) to determine security, workflow, and assignment of audits. A corporate audit is a type of assignment in the ATS system. CTT will import tax return data entered by Source Corp to automate most of the data entry of the audit. It is a new development and uses VS 2010, C#, Oracle/SQL Server, WPF, WCF, and OO concepts.
One resource for ARM application for the PVA office:
This is a major initiative for Department of Revenue to support and rewrite a property tax system for PVA offices across the Commonwealth. ARM project deals with all the property valuations for over 39 counties in the commonwealth. The Property Valuation Administrators use customized versions of the application to track the (past, present, and projected) valuation of the properties in their counties and issue reports to the commonwealth's Department of Revenue. The current application is an MS Access 2000 based application. A major rewrite is planned to be developed using Visual Studio 2010 in C# with an SQL Server database.
