Title: Build Engineer

Location Denver CO

Duration: 6+ Months

 

The position is for software Build Engineer.
The Build Engineering group supports build and deploy activities globally for Experian Consumer Direct. The primary development environment is .NET. We are currently ramping up to support builds for iOS and Android, and Java projects.
We are undergoing a transformation globally to help us automate build, packaging and deployment to enable us to support more projects and reduce time to market. This is a great time to join our organization.
The candidate is expected to support with daily build and deploy activities to pre-prod and production environments. Our environment has automated build scripts setup using TeamCity and Jenkins. We have some manual activities that we are considering to automate. The candidate is expected to contribute in helping us automate and streamline those activities. Until those tasks are automated, the candidate is expected to support the team with the manual tasks.
Currently, for source code control, we are using TFS, Git, and Serena Dimensions. For ticket tracking, we use Serena TeamTrack. For deployment management, we use BladeLogic. Our primary development and build platform is Windows. However, Java, Androind and iOS build activities are performed on Linux.

 

Skills Required

• Experience in implementing Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Build/Release best practices and procedures.
• Experienced with source code management systems. Currently, TFS is our primary system.
• Experience in supporting branching and merging activities.
• Experience writing build scripts using MSBuild, Visual Build, Powershell or any other scripting language.
• Background in programming and/or build engineering is required.
• Expertise in Continuous Build/Integration Tools: TeamCity or Jenkins.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively across various business and technical groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships.
• BS or equivalent in Computer Science or comparable degree.

 

Skills Preferred

• Experience with BMC BladeLogic is desirable.
• Experience with Serena Dimensions is a plus.
• Experience with Serena TeamTrack is a plus.
• Any background or experience with Git is a plus.
• Some experience with Linux is a plus.
• Experience with Linus shell scripting is a big plus.
• Background or Knowledge of programming practices such as Waterfall/Agile/XP/Scrum.
