Description:

SQL Server Healthcheck Project FY15

 

Project Deliverables:

·         To upgrade all SQL Server 2005 databases to the supported version compliant with Snap Manager.

·         Apply Service Packs as needed to ensure compliance with Snap Manager.

·         SQL Server Consolidation.

·         Enable SQL Server Monitoring.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Upgrade SQL Server 2005 databases to supported version compliant with Snap Manager.

·         Apply service packs and hot fixes wherever necessary.

·         Design, Document and Implement the SQL Server consolidation strategy.

·         Identify candidates for SQL Server Consolidation.

·         Document a Migration procedure for SQL Server Consolidation.

·         Design, Document and Implement Resource Governor as part of SQL Server  Consolidation.

·         Design, Document and Implement a Snap Manager solution for backup and recovery of SQL Server Consolidation.

·         Evaluate and Setup SQL Server Monitoring.

"Must-Have" Experience and Skills:

·         Expert with SQL Server 2005 through 2012.

·         Experience with SQL Server Consolidation.

·         Experience implementing Resource Governor.

·         Experience with prior SQL Server upgrades and patching.

·         Experience implementing SQL Server Monitoring.

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Strong collaboration skills, responsive to service needs and operational demands.

"Nice-to-Have" Experience and Skills:

·         Nice to have knowledge of NetApp products like Snap Manager for SQL Server, Snap Drive for Windows.
