Job Title: UI Developer (User Interface)

Duration: 6+ Months Long Term Contract

Location: Chicago, IL

Job Description:

The consulting position serves as a UI developer that will work on emerging user interfaces for web applications. We are seeking a developer that is comfortable hand coding and creating new interactions that aren't pre-existing. You will create interactive prototypes that will span from low fidelity to production front end code from a combination of wireframes and visual designs. Working in a collaborative team environment you will work in partnership with both our UX and development teams, playing a critical role in crafting the user interface solutions and helping make them executable.

Professional Responsibilities:

The role will be involved in the following critical activities:

• Manage, maintain and grow a set of enterprise wide CSS, components and JavaScript
  
• Build high fidelity prototypes for client facing technology and other internal base applications.
• Some level of helping internal development teams to enhance user experience heavy stories
  
• Be a key resource to help educate and grow user interface development practices at GCM
  
• Creatively figure out how innovative design ideas can be implemented and tested
  
• Visualize concepts quickly and cleanly through rapid prototyping methods.
  
• Design/develop innovative and engaging UIs with the latest technologies
  

General Education, Skills or Experience Requirements:

•  knowledge in user experience / graphic design principles.
  
•  3+ years' experience with coding HTML and HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
  
•  Experience with Reactive layouts, interactive design modeling and authoring tools
  
•  Experience with MVC/MVVM JavaScript frameworks
  
•  Preferred experience with LESS Framework and Knockout.js
  
•  Preferred experience with JavaScript unit testing framework such as QUnit
