This role will focus on providing application support for our QA and Development groups for custom applications and website.

The Development Environments Technician is deeply involved in the support, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Software Development and Testing organizations.
The role's primary focus for this opening is to provide application support for the Test and Development organizations.
As part of the Environments Team, this role will also need to be able to develop and maintain the servers (virtual and physical) used for development, test, build and integration testing for the development and test groups. This role also works to ensure the environments are documented and can be created in a repeatable manner and works with Windows, Mac OS and possibly Linux. The Environments Tech will also help to develop, document and maintain server images and templates.
In addition, this role will maintain a catalog of environments and software tools used by the development and test groups and manage the licenses for the tools specific to those groups. They will also help to upgrade and service the main applications and tools owned by the group.
Essential Functions:
· Work to manage, maintain and create working environments for the development and test groups to support the development and testing efforts.
- Developer Environments
- Integration and Testing Environments for Test and Development
- Build Environments
- Development Tool Servers
· Document and version the environments and their configuration to ensure consistency and that environment creation is repeatable.
· Must be able to work to engineer and create an efficient development environment for the development teams.
· Work to solve application support issues of software within the development and test environments and provide solutions to improve availability of the environments and applications for these teams.
· Work to utilize automation and templates to make the management of environments efficient and scalable.
· Organize and maintain the VM environments used by development and test.
· Maintain, inventory, upgrade and manage the licenses for the development service tools and applications used by the development and test groups.
· Develops, documents and audits the policies and procedures around development and test environments and tools.
· Works closely with the build engineer, development, test and operations teams.
· May assist in tool evaluation, setup and configuration.
