Location: Downtown, Houston
Duration: 6-12 month contract.
Rate: $50/hr on C2C

Essential Job Responsibilities
Designs and develops software applications to complement and enhance commercially off the Shelf (COTS) as well as in-house developed applications to support the business. Serves as troubleshooter with third-party software applications and their developers to remedy identified problems. Assists users with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Access and Excel. Assists with improving existing programs by reviewing objectives and specification, evaluating proposed changes, recommending changes, and making modifications. Instrumental in the migration process from test to production. A point of escalation in the support troubleshooting process to solve problems with software at desktop and server level.
Qualifications
Required: 5+ years of development experience with C#; Candidate must be proficient with: Visual Studio 2010; .NET (2.0, 3.5, 4.0); MVC 4.0+, and Entity Framework. Team Foundation Server 2010+. Familiarity with other scripting languages (JavaScript). Collaborative, cross-group design and development. Strong self-motivation. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) with a preference in VSTO. Scripting and development experience with SQL Server (SQL 2008, 2012) including SSRS.
Strong oral/written communication skills, especially in being able to communicate technical information with clarity and accuracy in a cross-team environment. Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment.
Preferred Skills: Experience in an Operations/IT environment; Familiar with hardware/server installs and deployment ; Familiarity with risk and quality management. Experience in leveraging third-party controls from Telerik.

- Involved in system analysis, design, development, testing of Customer Web application using ASP.NET MVC4, MVVM Pattern, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery Mobile Framework, JQuery, C #.Net, HTML helpers, and AutoMapper pattern.
- Implemented Presentation layer without Razor (.aspx/.ascx) and with Razor (.cshtml)
- Performed Data Modeling using Entity Framework and created custom business Entities Class Library to transport the data between DAL Application layers to Presentation layer
- Web sites created in IIS8.0 (Win2012) for regular web and mobile with https certificates
- Created new service layer which uses Apache Active MQ to bypass WCF Services on demand
- Wrote LINQ queries throughout application
- Used AJAX and JSON to make asynchronous calls in the project
- All LiveValidations are validation through blur for appropriate fields
- Apache.NMS.ActiveMQ is used for messaging queuing
- Used encryption and decryption algorithms for all sensitive data storage in DB and transport
- Managed TFS to have Gated builds, auto builds with complete automation of deployments
