JOB DESCRIPTION:
- The individual must be knowledgeable of the daily care and operation of Windows Server 2008, 2012 in an active directory domain and VMware ESX.
- They must read speak and understand English and be able to follow written documentation as well as verbal instruction.
- The candidate must be able to perform AD administration tasks for users, Groups, Permissions, GPO's and more.
- They must be able to provision new virtual machines in Hyper-V and VMware ESXi as well as operate and maintain existing virtual machines.
- Knowledge of a Citrix Xendesktop; including VDI, Published Apps, use of roaming profiles, policies, etc., a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft System Center, specifically Operations Manager (SCOM) Configuration Manager (SCCM) a plus
- Troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose problems with a production environment are a must.
- The candidate must be able to articulate problems, potential solutions and make recommendations on the course of action needed to remediate server and workstation problems.
- Candidate should be familiar with basic change control processes.
- Will be working indoors in a climate controlled environment, Business Casual dress code is strictly enforced.
- Provide operational oversight of the server and storage infrastructure. Maintains and monitors server systems both physical and virtual to ensure proper functionality in support of the daily operations. Perform routine administrative configuration and changes to support operational changes within the IT infrastructure including the monitoring and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
- Provide troubleshooting support for server and application problems. Demonstrate problem ownership and diligence in resolving problems in a timely manner. Coordinate with vendors and escalate issues as needed. Document problems in Client's and associated vendor trouble ticket system.
- Design, plan, install, configure, and maintain infrastructure services. Benchmark, evaluate and make recommendations for the selection of software, hardware and other products. Document, schedule, and coordinate all activity in Client's change management system. Provide peer level training for other administrators.
- Works on one or more projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader, documents project requirements, procedures and diagrams of system configuration and integration.
- Use management systems and related tools for trend analysis and reporting to ensure system health and alerting. Responds to system alerts and works with the Infrastructure team to triage, assess and make recommendations for the remediation of system issues and outages.
- Works with the Infrastructure services team to provide budget, strategy and planning for data and voice communications that will support future capacity and availability goals.
- Research industry trends and evaluate the viability within the environment.
