DIRECT CLIENT Cognos Developer [Pleasanton, CA]



Title – Cognos Developer

Location – Pleasanton, CA

We are looking for a senior level Cognos Report Writer/Developer. This person must have at least 5 years experience with Cognos. Additional experience with other report tools such as Business Objects for BIRT a plus.

In this position, you will be required to understand the Oracle database structures and be able to create and/or modify queries in order to bring back the appropriate information. In addition, you will need to be able to create/modify associated parameter screens, modify existing reports and create new reports. You must be highly skilled and experienced with all graphical elements of the reporting tool as well as layered reporting with drill down capabilities. You must be able to learn the environment, design, develop and test quickly.

The subject matter for these reports is in the area of Enterprise Architecture. The reports are an extension of Troux Technologies, the system which manages all the data objects. The reports you will be modifying and/or creating will be dealing with IT Technologies. These reports will look at data objects in many different ways including technology configurations, organizational components, financial and risk aspects, and all the inter-relationships of these entities. These relationships can be highly complex which again requires a seasoned Cognos and relational database expert to comprehend and deliver.
